A Lake of Finest Blue
Dagon calls, and Jon answers...
Jon’s life is a mixtape, forever rolling forward and unspooling hope and potential in equal measure. Sure times are tough with an aggressive older sister and a missing father, but Jon soldiers on, moving to the beat of his Walkman’s tinny drummer.
But all that black ribbon has to go somewhere. There’s a darkness caught up in the static background of Jon’s life, a darkness that wants nothing more than to wind itself ever tighter around the spindle of his heart.
Still, all that can put aside for the annual pilgrimage south, to the swampy scrub brush of western Florida, and the mysterious powder-blue lake that makes its home there.
This year is different, though. This year theirs isn’t the only cabin in use. A questionable neighbor, a mysterious metal box, and pale eyes beneath the water make this a vacation that won’t soon be forgotten.
The lake offers much, but takes even more in return.
For Jon, these mysteries don’t stay hidden under so much perfectly blue water.
They follow.
Lost in the static hiss of a tape long past its prime, Dagon calls, and Jon answers.
A Lake of Finest Blue is a reimagining of HP Lovecraft's Dagon for a modern audience.
